Sekbor Ceramic Filter Elements for concentrate filtration

Sekbor Ceramic Filter Elements for concentrate filtration

Intended use:

  • Filtration of concentrates

  • Filtration of sludge and tailings

  • Setup of local closed-loop water-recycling systems

Sekbor filter elements are used in ceramic disc vacuum filters manufactured in Russia, Finland and China in equipment of the following brands: CDF, VDFK, СС, TT, ТС, KS, HTG, CEC

Industries:

  • Mining and processing

  • Housing and utilities sector

  • Alumina production

    Main advantages:

    • Continuous design improvement
    • Long lifetime of up to 36 months
    • Wide range of modifications
    • High strength and heat resistance
    • High resistance to abrasive wear
    • Most effective membrane coatings
    • High open porosity up to 45%
    • Maximum hydraulic throughput due to adjustability
    • Pore size of 1-10 μm
    Principle of operation:
When the disc rotates and the filter elements are immersed in pulp, the liquid phase seeps through the filter element pores by the vacuum and is discharged into the receiver. At the same time, cake starts to form on the surface of the filter elements, while neither solids nor air penetrate through the filter element pores.

    Description:

In-house manufacture, a special ceramics research center, design engineering bureau and filtration and beneficiation research center enable to develop filter plates ranging in size from 0.03 m2 to 0.82 m2, taking into account the equipment design features and process specifications of dewatered materials.

Many years of experience with major mining and processing plants enabled to engineer modified filter elements with pore sizes varying from 0.8 to 20μm on the basis of comprehensive researches, which made it possible to reduce the filtered sludge moisture content by 1-2% compared to the previously used elements and increase the capacity by up to 30%.

    Types of filter elements:

Type 1 with black filter element ends has proved to be effective at iron ore plants (Karelsky Okatysh, Stoilensky Mining and Processing Plant). Its elements feature low filter membrane resistance while filtering out fine concentrate particles.

Type 2 with gray filter element ends is used to filter suspensions with high concentrations of large size classes of up to 0.5 mm and low sludge concentrations with particle sizes of less than 0.005mm. Due to high throughput, this element type provides a specific capacity of more than 1,000kg/m2*h at sludge moisture content of 7.5 to 8.5%. The elements are recommended for apatite ore processing and gravity concentration product plants (ANOF-2, ANOF-3, ORK)

Type 3 with yellow filter element ends is used for highly abrasive concentrates ensuring filtration consistency during the warranty period due to the reinforced membrane coating.

Type 4 with red filter element ends is used for hard-to-filter pulps of non-ferrous metal concentrates with -0.005mm sludge concentrations of up to 15%, providing a thin cake on the filter element surface to enable its effective drying to a guaranteed moisture content of less than 9%.
